The Manchester tram network after the opening of the Droylsden line and the extension of the Oldham line to Rochdale (on 28 Feb. 2013), the extension of the South Manchester line to East Didsbury (on 23 May 2013) the extension of the Droylsden line to Ashton-under-Lyne (on 9 Oct. 2013) and the modification of the tram line through Oldham (27 Jan. 2014)

I created the above maps by overlaying OpenStreetMap (OSM) maps with my own data. Copyright on the OSM maps is © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under a CC-BY-SA (Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 licence).

Please note that the OSM maps used as templates for these maps correspond to the situation at the time the maps were downloaded and may show features that did not exist at the time the GS Tram Site is supposed to show. In particular, they may show bridges and highways that were built later.

  1 Bury - Prestwich - Victoria Station - Piccadilly Gardens - Deansgate - Trafford Bar - Old Trafford - Stretford - Brooklands - Altrincham
  2 Ashton-under-Lyne - Droylsden - Piccadilly Station - Piccadilly Gardens - Victoria Station - Prestwich - Bury
  3 Piccadilly Station - Piccadilly Gardens - Deansgate - Trafford Bar - Old Trafford - Stretford - Brooklands - Altrincham
  4 Piccadilly Station - Piccadilly Gardens - Deansgate - Salford Quays - Eccles
  5 Piccadilly Station - Piccadilly Gardens - Deansgate - Salford Quays - Media City
  6 Rochdale - Shaw and Crompton - Oldham - Failsworth - Victoria Station - Piccadilly Gardens - Deansgate - Trafford Bar - St Werburgh's Road - East Didsbury

NB: The above routes are weekday services. Routes 1 and 5 do not run on Sundays and public holidays. When route 5 does not operate, route 4 also stops at Media City.

The Museum of Transport , in Smedley, just north of Victoria Station, has a horse-drawn tram, two early electric trams and the prototype Metrolink tram from the early 1990s.
